I recently discovered this excellent band, Ra Ra Riot, with their latest album: The Rhumb Line thanks to XKCD reminding me about Amazon’s sweet MP3 store. I think this is an excellent way to start an album, guys!
The election has gotten me thinking of (and duly frustrated about) the annoying idea that people MUST be organized by some central authority. My main argument is that we can take care of ourselves, but next comes the inevitable, “Maybe YOU can, but not everybody can!” Then I get angry and wish I could eloquently weave ants into the discussion, but I am never successful at this. >:\

This is why I’m glad I decided to take a Human Development course after all. I like the girl who said she watched her “Age 7 in America” self at 8 and understood her place in the world… and thought ‘yuck!’ We could all use perspective like this—at all ages.
